Editorial Methodology
A documented account of how Aledorun selects sources, verifies information, calibrates content for local relevance, and maintains independence from commercial interests.
Six-Stage Content Pipeline
Topic Identification
Editorial topics are drawn from two sources: reader enquiries collected via the contact desk, and emerging findings in indexed nutritional and exercise science publications. Topics are evaluated for practical relevance to Indonesian urban living before entering the editorial calendar.
Source Collection
A minimum of four primary sources are required per article. Sources are drawn from PubMed-indexed publications, WHO nutritional guidelines, and established Indonesian nutritional research outputs. Manufacturer-produced materials and brand-commissioned studies are excluded at this stage.
Local Calibration
International research findings are assessed for applicability under Indonesian conditions: equatorial heat, humidity, dietary patterns, work culture, and urban stress factors. Where international data does not translate directly, Indonesian-specific research is substituted or limitations are noted in the editorial copy.
Contributor Review
Articles covering nutrition, movement, or behavioural wellbeing are reviewed by the relevant desk contributor before publication. The contributor checks factual accuracy, verifies source citations, and flags unsupported claims for revision. A turnaround of five business days is standard.
Editorial Sign-off
The founding editor performs a final review against three criteria: factual accuracy relative to cited sources, alignment with Aledorun's editorial register, and absence of commercially influenced claims. No article is published without this final review stage, regardless of contributor.
Archive & Update Protocol
Published articles are reviewed annually. Where source research has been updated or superseded, the article is revised and dated accordingly. Outdated content that cannot be reliably updated is archived rather than left in active circulation. Readers are informed of revision dates.
What Qualifies as a Source
Publications indexed in PubMed, MEDLINE, or equivalent peer-reviewed nutritional and exercise science databases. Minimum two-reviewer process required.
Published nutritional guidelines and dietary reference standards from WHO, FAO, and Indonesian Ministry of Health nutritional reference tables.
Published outputs from Indonesian universities (UI, UGM, ITB) and international institutions with demonstrated expertise in nutritional or exercise science.
Research commissioned by supplement or nutrition brands without independent verification is excluded, regardless of journal publication.
Influencer content, social media wellness guides, and unverified personal accounts are not used as sources under any circumstances.
Reports, white papers, and analyses without named authors, institutional affiliation, or verifiable publication date are excluded from citation.
Commercial Independence Statement
Aledorun is an independent wellness resource focused on everyday nutrition and active lifestyle practices for men. The content is not affiliated with any governmental or institutional body.
The journal does not hold sponsorship arrangements with supplement brands, nutrition products, or commercial fitness entities. Where partnerships exist with aligned organisations, content produced under that arrangement is clearly marked as partnership content and reviewed under identical editorial standards as all other articles.
Revenue is drawn from reader subscriptions and advertising placements that are limited to categories unrelated to the content topics covered. No editorial decision is influenced by advertising relationships.
Data and Reference Sourcing
Research Index Access
PubMed Central, the WHO Global Health Observatory, and the Indonesian Ministry of Health's published nutritional reference tables form the primary data layer for all content. Access is maintained via institutional subscriptions and open-access archives.
Third-Party Verification
Factual claims on nutrient roles, movement outcomes, and lifestyle indicators are cross-referenced against at least two independent sources. The verification log is maintained internally and is available to the editorial advisory board upon request.
Annual Audit Process
The full article archive is audited annually by the editorial team. Articles relying on research older than five years without subsequent validation are flagged for review. Updated articles carry a revision date in the publication metadata.
Batch Verification and Quality Control
Where Aledorun covers supplement and nutritional product topics, the editorial position draws from ingredient profiles selected based on published nutritional research. Independent batch verification for quality and labelling accuracy is the standard referenced. The journal does not endorse specific brands; it documents ingredient categories and research findings.
Active ingredients referenced in Aledorun content are covered by documented suppliers with each batch accompanied by a certificate of composition. Sourcing prioritises suppliers whose facilities maintain food-grade processing standards. The journal references this information as context for reader understanding, not as a commercial endorsement.
We recommend speaking with a qualified wellness or nutrition professional before introducing any supplement to your daily routine, particularly if you have specific dietary requirements.
Ingredient coverage references third-party verified batch data, not manufacturer claims.
Sourcing documentation includes labelling accuracy certificates for ingredient concentration.
Referenced suppliers maintain food-grade processing standards documented in facility records.
Sourcing prioritises suppliers with documented chain-of-custody records available to the editorial team.
Corrections & Reader Feedback
Aledorun maintains a corrections policy under which factual errors identified in published content are acknowledged and corrected within five business days of verification. Corrections are marked with a dated notation at the head of the relevant article.
Readers who identify potential inaccuracies in published content are encouraged to contact the editorial desk. All submitted corrections are reviewed against cited sources. The editorial team does not remove correction requests without documented review, regardless of source.
Submit a CorrectionAcknowledgement of correction submission sent to reader.
Internal source review and fact-check against cited materials completed.
Correction published or explanation of review outcome sent to submitter.
